POINT OF SALE

Several cashiers. One set of books.

Every sale rung at the counter lands in the same books your accountant reads, under the name of the cashier who rang it. No retyping at night, and the end of day is a count, not a reconstruction.

HOW THE SALE MOVES

The sale, the payment, the record.

1
Cashiers serving at a counter with their own open tabs

Several cashiers, each with their own tabs

A customer is on every tab before items go into the cart. Several people serve at once, each with their own tabs and running totals.

  • A tab named for a table or a customer
  • Split a tab, or hand it to another cashier
  • Charge a tab to a customer's account
2
Taking payment at the counter across several methods

Eight ways to pay, ten currencies

One sale can be split across more than one method, and the allocation is checked before the sale closes.

  • Discounts inside the ceiling you set for that cashier
  • Live rate fetched at the moment the payment is taken
  • Service charge and suggested gratuity on the receipt
3
Reviewing the shift report and the ledger after close

Stock, ledger and shift report

The sale moves the stock, lands in the ledger, and appears on the shift report under the cashier's name.

  • Stock movement recorded as the sale closes
  • The ledger entry is the sale, not a copy of it
  • At close, the drawer is counted and the variance calculated
WHAT THE COUNTER ACTUALLY DOES

Named methods, named currencies, named discounts.

Every line below is a setting a cashier or a manager can find in the till, not a category standing in for one.

Eight ways to pay

Cash, card, cheque, gift card, store credit, a promotional partner, tap to pay on the device itself, or hold the sale as a quote. One sale can be split across more than one of them, and the allocation is checked before the sale closes.

Cash Card Cheque Gift card Store credit Promotional partner Tap to pay Hold as quote

Ten currencies at the counter

Jamaican, US, Trinidad and Tobago, Eastern Caribbean, Barbados, Bahamas, Belize, Guyana, Cayman and Canadian dollars. The rate is fetched live when the payment is taken, you can set your own markup or markdown on the bank rate, and cash rounds to the nearest, always up, or always down, as you choose.

One customer record

Recognised at every location, carrying purchase history, store credit balance, gift cards, and what is owed on the account. A tab can be charged to that account at the counter with a manager PIN.

Discounts that carry a name

Named presets such as Staff or Management, automatic discounts by category on chosen days, a maximum percentage per cashier and a manager PIN above it. Every discount is logged against whoever applied it.

Service charge and gratuity

A default service charge for the business and a rate per cashier, with three suggested gratuity percentages printed on the receipt.

Named tax rates

Set GCT by name, per location, with your tax registration number printed on every receipt and invoice.

THE END OF THE DAY

Every shift ends in a count.

The drawer is counted open and counted closed, and the difference is worked out for you rather than discovered later.

Counted open, counted close

The float is counted note by note at open, and the close is counted by denomination and by currency.

Variance calculated for you

Against warning and critical levels you set, per cashier, so a difference is flagged at close rather than found weeks later.

Safe drop

Excess cash leaves the drawer and goes to the safe without closing the shift or interrupting trading.

Safe and petty cash

Each keeps its own ledger, and deposits are recorded against the slip number so a lodgement can be traced back.

Gross profit per shift

And who took what, cashier by cashier, on the same report as the drawer count.

Trading can be blocked

Until a shift is properly opened, so a till cannot quietly start selling without a counted float behind it.

THE FLOOR

Built for a room where several people serve at once.

Bars, restaurants and anywhere a tab stays open while the customer is still in the room.

Tabs per cashier

Named for a table or for a customer, each with its own running total, open while the room is still busy.

A floor plan

Rooms and tables showing the server, the covers, the spend and the time, so a manager can read the room at a glance.

Table timers

With your own warning and critical minutes, so a table that has been waiting too long shows itself.

Split a tab

Item by item into new tabs, or moved straight into another tab that is already open.

The kitchen sees it once

On a bump bar, or printed by category and by location, so a drink and a main do not both land at the same station.

Removals after the grace period

Logged with a reason and carried onto the shift report, against the person who removed the item.

QUESTIONS

Questions About Point of Sale

How would I know if cash went missing?

Every shift closes against a counted drawer, by denomination and by currency, and the variance is calculated for you against warning and critical levels you set. Refunds, discounts and stock adjustments raise an exception you can filter by location, date and staff member.

Can one cashier see another cashier's sales?

No. A cashier sees only their own tabs. A supervisor with an override PIN sees everyone's.

Do I need new hardware?

No. The counter runs on a phone or tablet you already have, with tap to pay on the device itself. Add a receipt printer, a card reader, a label printer or a scanner when you want them.

How do sales reach the books?

Directly. The sale at the counter is the stock movement and the ledger entry, so nothing gets retyped at night and the end of day is a count, not a reconstruction.

How does each sale affect stock?

The completed sale records the stock movement as it closes, so sales and remaining stock are read from the same record rather than reconciled against each other.

What about refunds and exceptions?

Refunds and unusual exceptions are recorded separately and routed through the approval rules your team sets, and each one appears on the shift report against the cashier who made it.

Can virtual staff help with point of sale?

Yes. Virtual staff can prepare the catalog, review end-of-day differences, prepare refund records, and draft follow-up messages to customers. Your team approves prices, discounts, refunds, and payments.
